Now Hiring: Primary and Secondary Classroom Teachers

Starting Date: 2017-2018 school year

Global Prep Academy is currently seeking a Primary Classroom Teacher to work in the lower school at the elementary level in grades 1-2 as well as a Secondary Classroom Teacher to work in the upper school in grades 3-6.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the grade level team as well as extension teachers and interventionists on planning for classroom instruction
  • Effectively plan an implement lesson plans and units of instruction
  • Use the Indiana State Standards to guide instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Facilitate conversation on best practices with parents and family members of the students being served
  • Effectively assess student needs and progress and align instruction to meet student, class, grade level, and school goals
  • Establish a positive learning environment and demonstrated experience in working as a team member of a grade level/ school wide family.
  • Implement policies and procedures within the classroom in order to make sure all students are accountable for their work and progress

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Readers and Writer’s Workshop as well as Guided Reading
  • Familiarity with the Journeys reading curriculum as well as Investigations Math curriculum
  • Background in hands-on and expeditionary learning projects and units
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset

Now Hiring: Licensed Social Worker

Starting Date: 2017-2018 School Year

Global Prep is currently seeking a full time, school based social worker for the 2017-2018 school year. The LSW at GPA will provide services related to students’ emotional and social needs and provide a link between students, families, and school personnel to promote and support academic and social success.

Responsibilities

  • Work with those problems in a child’s living situation that affect the child’s adjustment in school
  • Prepare a social or developmental history on a child with a disability
  • Counsel in group, individual, or family settings
  • Mobilize family, school, and community resources to enable the child to learn as effectively as possible in his or her educational program
  • Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies

Services Provided to Students

  • Crisis intervention
  • Intervention strategies to increase academic success
  • Conflict resolution and anger management
  • Helping the child develop appropriate social interaction skills
  • Assisting the child in understanding and accepting self and others

Now Hiring: Special Education Teachers

Starting Date: 2017-2018 school year

Global Prep Academy is currently seeking teachers with a background and licensure in special education for positions in both upper and lower school (grades K-6).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the grade level team as well as extension teachers and interventionists on planning for classroom and remedial instruction
  • Effectively plan an implement lesson plans and units of instruction for students with special needs
  • Use the Indiana State Standards and student individual goals to guide instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Facilitate conversation on best practices with parents and family members of the students being served
  • Effectively assess student needs and progress and align instruction to meet student, class, grade level, and school goals
  • Establish a positive learning environment and demonstrated experience in working as a team member of a grade level/ school wide family.
  • Participate in annual and initial case conferences
  • Provide record keeping on student goals and behavior as well as academic progress
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of behavior plans
  • Maintain student files and records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IIEP and Indiana IEP software
  • Familiarity with Readers and Writer’s Workshop as well as Guided Reading instruction

Now Hiring: Emotional Disabilities Teacher

Starting Date: 2017-2018 school year

Global Prep Academy is currently seeking an Emotional Disabilities teacher in order to provide academic and behavioral interventions for students in grades K-3. Candidates should have licensure in special education in the state of Indiana as well as experience with working with students with emotional disabilities and trauma.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the grade level team members, administration, and extension team staff on providing academic and behavior supports for students with emotional disabilities
  • Differentiate instructional and behavioral strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Collaborate with school counselors, social workers, Midtown staff, special education staff and families on programming needs for students with emotional disabilities
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of behavior plans
  • Assist with gathering data on student behaviors, Functional Behavior Assessments, and progress monitoring
  • Facilitate conversation on best practices with parents and family members of the students being served
  • Establish a positive learning environment and demonstrated experience in working as a team member of a grade level/ school wide family.
  • Implement policies and procedures within the classroom in order to make sure all students are accountable for their work and progress

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background and experience with serving students with emotional disabilities
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset
