Homelessness Assistance


Global Preparatory Academy is committed to support families experiencing homelessness in accordance with the McKinney-Vento Act.  The McKinney-Vento Act ensures immediate enrollment and educational stability for students experiencing homelessness.


The McKinney-Vento Act defines homeless as an individual who lacks a fixed, regular, adequate nighttime residence.  Any child experiencing displacement due to economic hardship, living in a shelter, motel, campground or is temporarily living with family or friend would qualify for certain rights including:


* Immediate Enrollment, even if they lack the documetns needed to enroll at that time

* Free meals and textbooks

* Transportation to and from school or orgin

* Referrals to community resources and supports

* School uniform and school supply support
